Campaigning

By definition this is an essential part of the campaign! The success of the campaign will be determined by the number of women we can mobilise to do something. We can campaign at a national and a local level - and both are important.

National

• Send an email to your MP, MSP, MWA, and/or MEP. We have provided you with a direct link to do this. You may choose to write a letter or send a different form of message - do let us know how you get on
• If you are a lung cancer patient you may wish to be an advocate and talk on behalf of the campaign to politicians and the media. We can support you in this, so please let us know if you are willing to help is in this important way. We have a Patient Support Manager who will be pleased to hear from you. Politicians and the media are much more inclined to listen to patients than to the 'experts'.

Local

• Spread the message about the Women Against Lung Cancer campaign to
  • Your own personal network of family, friends and work, school, college or university colleagues. Get the women to follow your lead and sign up too
  • Download some fliers and distribute them in places where they will be read such as doctor's surgeries, chemists, libraries, community centres, places of worship, educational establishments etc
  • Again, if you are a patient, tell the local newspaper your own personal story and why you are supporting the campaign
