If you are a UK taxpayer, Women Against Lung Cancer can boost your gift by 28% by reclaiming tax from the Inland Revenue. As a result, a £10 gift is worth £12.80 - at no cost to you!

The Gift Aid scheme is unique to the UK . If you are not a UK taxpayer, you can still make a donation, but your donation will not attract the 28% tax 'bonus'.

What do I have to do?

Tax may only be reclaimed on donations made by individuals who pay UK income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount reclaimed on their donations in the current tax year. Please read the tax status options carefully when you make a donation and confirm whether you are a UK taxpayer or not.

Benefits to higher-rate taxpayers

If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can reclaim the tax relief on the grossed up amount of your donation at 18% (e.g. the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40% and the basic rate at 22%).

For example, if you give £100 we can reclaim an extra £28.21 for the charity and you can reclaim another £23.08. As a result, a £100 gift worth £128.21 to Women Against Lung Cancer only costs you £76.92.
